WE BELIEVE IN GHOSTS.... GHOST KITCHENS TO BE EXACT!

The ghost kitchen concept is a term used to describe a kitchen that does not exist as a brick and mortar shop. Many ghost kitchens will rent at a communal space, but for restaurants, this is a great way to use the kitchen they have and create a new brand online to attract a variety of customers.

Several of our new projects during COVID have been partnering with our clients on their ghost kitchen concepts. The pandemic has definitely created challenges, but it's been interesting and encouraging to see firsthand how our clients are adapting to the new restaurant industry.

Ghost kitchens have thrived during COVID-19. In order to mitigate losses, restaurants have come up with new brands that exist entirely online and are only able to be delivered by a food delivery app. Many companies are tapping into what could be a $1 trillion business by the year 2030.

Instead of creating an overwhelming menu with too many options on an app, restaurants are able to split up different sections of their menu into more specialty concepts. If they own multiple brands on a food delivery app, they have more digital real estate and can target a consumer who is looking for a more specific brand. They have also found that selling family-sized meals is more profitable given the delivery app fee.

We had a sweet time photographing Dave and Buster's new concept, Wing's Out! Check out the project on UberEats, or better yet, order some wings or churros to try them out for yourself.
